I know 4th place - that was pistol on the Middle Fork in mid-September. He popped an oar right above the drop while trying to decide if he wanted to go left or right of that rock he's on. I was in the eddy below and didn't get to see it, but everyone else on the trip got a great view of near-carnage from the scout on the right bank. OK, so know I want to know where these were.
